Ride the First Wave

Last Thursday, just an hour before my radio show began, I went home and was surprised to see a package from Golly Gee Records waiting in the mailbox. Mel had sent me a promo copy of "Ride the First Wave." I really appreciate getting this fantastic CD!

On my show last Thursday, I played "Ghost Hop." This week, I'll be playing "Banzai Washout."

Over the past weekend, I listened to "Ride the First Wave" repeatedly. Robi, this is truly a great album! Your guitar just shimmers on all of these songs. The guitar, bass and drums are so distinctive and clear. They sound so good. I have some of the original versions of these songs, but I do not have most of them. You really selected some rare songs for this CD. Nice job! I love discovering vintage songs that I didn't know about. I especially love discovering them via your recordings of them! By the way, the sound quality on these songs is also excellent.

I really can't even describe to you how much I enjoyed listening to "Ride the First Wave" this past weekend. On Saturday night, my wife and daughter were out of town. I stayed home and listened to "Ride The First Wave" at full volume on the good stereo downstairs! Wow! I almost drowned in the reverb and the "first wave." I don't know how you discovered all of these great vintage songs! It makes me wonder how many others are out there waiting to be discovered!

I'll be keeping "Ride The First Wave" in steady rotation on my radio show for a long time. I have been saying for a long time that Bitch Boys is the best instro band around and you haven proven me right, once again!

Robi, if you want to send me another CD, I'll donate it to the radio station. I would like to see "Ride The First Wave" on our WOBC "New Releases" shelf. It would get a lot of airplay on the other DJ's shows. I'll leave it up to you. I already appreciate your and Mel's generosity for thinking of me!

Again, congratulations on the excellent CD!
