BitchBoys: Ride the First Wave

Bitch Boys really made me happy with their new CD. 30 tracks of real surf pleasure and I must admit even better than their last album. This time Bitch Boys cover 'almost forgotten' surf songs + some other weird and exotic stuff. Actually (as the CD booklet says) Golly Gee Records invited Bitch Boys to release this CD dedicated to 'first wave' of surf music. And in my opinion they choose the right band to do this. Some bands they covered: The Surfmen, Dave And The Customs, The Phantom Five, The Strangers, The Ghouls, The Aladins, The Vulcanes, Tradewinds, ... CD ends with 4 tracks that are actually not surf covers, but 2 are classical peaces + 1 Bosnian folk + 1 exotic. As always Bitch Boys have perfect surf production. The way they play is technically perfect, but still with lot of emotion - that's what I love about this band. My faves on this CD are "Damascus" (orient surf exotica), "Puszta Beat" (Theo Schumann Combo cover - cool DDR surf! beat cover, featuring surf violin), "Vltava" (classical peace by Smetana featuring orchestra - East Euro surf beat at its best) and "Tamburalo Momce Uz Tamburu" (definitely my favorite, great Balkan orient surf).
